US want more pressure on China to help on NKorea sanctions

The barrage of leaflets landed on South Korean territory since the night of January 12, when the North was detected launching plastic balloons, presumably carrying fliers, the South Korean Defense Ministry reported.
Back in 2000, she was known then as the prayerful Esther Joo, but was portrayed by Pyongyang over the weekend as somewhat dubiously repenting for her sins against North Korea's leadership and praising the state's healthcare and housing.
North and South Korea share the world's most heavily fortified border and are still officially at war since their conflict in the 1950s ended with an armistice rather than a peace treaty. It's standard practice for North Korea to offer such concessions.
The senior State Department official is visiting South Korea and China as part of a four-nation swing through Asia that has already taken him to Japan and Myanmar.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) closed down 2.3 percent at 1,845.45 points, after retreating as much as 3.2 percent.
Pyongyang's claim of a hydrogen bomb test has been contested by experts, who say that the impact of the test was not as large as it should have been if a hydrogen bomb was tested.
North Korea admitted in 2002 that it had dispatched agents to kidnap 13 Japanese in the 1970s and 1980s who were tasked with training its spies in Japanese language and customs. But last week's test shows that North Korea has not yet digested the worldwide community's message that North Korea's nuclear development will endanger rather than enhance the Kim regime's prospects for survival.
China's cooperation toward this end is an essential litmus test of Beijing's willingness to work together on a clear and present common threat to regional and global security.
