Zayn Malik's Pillowtalk hits No 1 in 60 countries

At midnight last night, Malik debuted his first single-the quite enjoyable and distinctive "Pillowtalk" (which already has ascended to the No. 1 spot on iTunes)-and also released the accompanying video, which stars Hadid. The singer has released his first solo track 'Pillow Talk' today on January 28, 2016.

He says: "I genuinely enjoyed [the band] and did whatever I could to be myself within that, but it's just not where I sit as a musician". Though Malik and Hadid have been coy in confirming any romance rumors between the two, things get hot and heavy in the video, aptly playing into the single's title. Or if your thinking is more like mine, you might enjoy this article about other folks who did what Zayn is trying to do, but better. That's not music that I would listen to.

But there is one individual who is decidedly NOT a fan: Harry Styles.

The album will come out exactly one year after Malik left One Direction, the band that emerged from "The X Factor" television contest in 2010 to become one of the world's best-selling acts.

"I just gave it a go because it was there at the time", he said. P.S. Does anyone else think of Monica from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. they see the flowers?! And you may want to save this one for after work as the lyrics themselves may be considered a little NSFW. "I never really wanted to be there in the band". Lo and behold, we learn that Zayn wasn't lying - he really does love sex! He told Lowe that his father, Yaser Malik, wasn't "too impressed" that he quit, but after a few months he got "itchy feet" and began to write new music.

Malik said he also "instantly realized" the group wasn't for him when he felt unable to contribute musically. "Hopefully people can hear that in the music, because that's what I'm trying to portray: what I'm going through".
