Mourners pay respects to Celine Dion's husband

Singer Celine Dion, accompanied by her three sons and her mother, arrived for the funeral of her husband and manager, Rene Angelil in Montreal on Friday (January 22).

Celine Dion's 14-year-old son Rene-Charles made his mum proud at the funeral of his father Rene Angelil in Montreal, Canada on Friday (22Jan16) by delivering a heartfelt tribute and a promise to live up to his dad's standards.

"Maybe I wouldn't have had the same life had it not been for Rene because I travelled around the world to see Celine, " said Gendron, who comes from nearby Saint-Hubert.

As far as performing goes, Celine Dion knows that Rene Angelil would have wanted her to get back on stage and to continue to share her gift of song with the world.

"You are a tough act to follow but with your help, everything is going to be fine". Or do you think that Rene Angelil will really be the only love of Celine's life?

Dion and her son, René-Charles, welcomed the thousands of fans who attended the public memorial service on Thursday, which included an open casket viewing.

Countless Quebec celebrities and dignitaries noted Ang�?©lil's generosity, among them former premier Jean Charest, current premier Philippe Couillard and the mayors of Montreal and Quebec City, Denis Coderre and R�?©gis Labeaume. "But she's very good at and has always been about putting on a fearless face".

Patrick Angelil, one of the deceased's three adult children from two previous marriages, told the service his father was a loving man. He said that it was done to honor the man who had given so much to their culture.

According to People Magazine, Dion is heartbroken over the loss of her husband who lost his battle to cancer a week ago.

Angélil's illness, first diagnosed in 1999, prompted Dion to put her career on hold in 2014, suspending her Las Vegas residency.
