Other cases in the country have all involved people who recently returned from Zika-affected regions.
"These are the first cases of Zika virus infection confirmed in Ireland", a HSE spokeswoman said.
There have been six confirmed travel-related cases of Zika in Texas, all among residents of Harris County, where Houston is located, the Department of State Health Services said.
