Panthers LB Davis undergoes surgery
By Alicia Guzman Jan 27, 2016Rivera broke his arm in the second quarter of Carolina's 49-15 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in the NFC championship.
Photo Carolinas Thomas Davis warms up before Sundays NFC Championship against the Arizona Cardinals in Charlotte, N.C. He was seen on the sideline with his arm in a sling, but was not wearing it in the locker room after the game.
"It kind of came full circle, not only competing against him in the National Football League, but going all the way back to a 17-year-old kid in high school and thinking the world of this guy who was going on to have a great National Football League career". "I believe in our training staff and I believe in the process", he said referring to the necessary procedures to be undertaken to prep him for Super Bowl 50. "You better believe that...." After confirming that the initial prognosis is a broken arm, he said that he would be ready for Super Bowl 50 against the Broncos.
"I believe in me", Davis said. The veteran has taken some medicine and says "I'll be all right". "Three ACLs and broken fingers hasn't stopped him yet". Voted an All-Pro this season, Davis has been a key member of the one-loss Panthers and will deservedly get his shot at a ring. The severity of the break is unknown at present, though his wife confirmed on Instagram that Davis underwent surgery for the injury Monday morning.
"One of the things Coach Ditka emphasized to us was to enjoy the moment", said Rivera Monday to ESPN.
"The thing we've got to remember is what we're playing for, and that's to win it, " Rivera said Monday. "I've had an opportunity to be a player, an assistant coach, and now a head coach in the Super Bowl". On top of that, Davis will have people running into his arm and falling on top of it all game should he play. The injury typically requires at least four weeks and in many cases six weeks to fully heal. "And there's also the risk of infection, you just had surgery two weeks ago". He has had over 100 tackles each season, as well as a total of 12 sacks and seven interceptions in that time frame.
The heart and soul of the Panthers' defense isn't wasting any time in his quest to play in the Super Bowl.
Star Wars Episode VIII release delayed
Star Wars: Episode VIII is now in preproduction and is scheduled to begin principal photography in London next month. My educated guess is that Avatar 2 and Ready Player One will start to look for newer release dates.
