Inbox by Gmail getting quick answer cards to speed things up

Search is in Google's DNA, that's really what made Google the behemoth that it is today, which is why it's not surprising to see the company put an emphasis on search-related features in its other services.

Google does love cards, and its showing off that adoration with brand new "quick answer cards" within its Inbox by Gmail email app.

When users search their email for certain types of information, Google will surface the relevant part you're looking for immediately in a card-like interface. Similarly, searching for "frequent flyer number" will just bring up your different frequent flier numbers so you don't have to open up separate emails from different airlines. For users, that may take the place of the usual practice of digging through a list of search results, seeking one particular piece of information.

Google today detailed a change to Inbox by Gmail that makes search results much smarter.

Of course, all of that requires that users be comfortable with Google's service looking over their email to find things like product tracking numbers and utility bills, which may be a tough pill to swallow for some privacy-conscious users.

Taking that even further, underneath the quick answers, Gmail users will see a "Top Results" section within their inbox, arranging emails by relevance.

Both features appear to be live right now, so a new APK isn't needed.
