School receives bomb threat following threats to courthouses
By Michael Mitchell Jan 20, 2016No further details about the threat were provided by police, but their search eventually resulted in an all clear when no explosive device was discovered.
The school - one of about a dozen that have received threats across the state this morning - received a robocall at about 11 a.m., according to Clarke.
Butte police have been in contact with authorities in Lewis and Clark County because a similar bomb threat was made Thursday to Helena Municipal Court. The message warned that there was a bomb in the school, but did not single out Monson High School by name, Clarke said in an interview. No state troopers or bomb squads responded to the scene.
Ryan told The Globe that law enforcement concluded the threat had "low credibility" but that Bodie made a decision to shut down for the day given that the threat talked about targeting students.
"We will notify parents and the community using this alert system, if we feel it is necessary to dismiss students". Please know that all students and staff are safe.
Police said on Twitter they did not regard the attack as credible but that the evacuation was carried out as a precaution.
This is a developing story and we will have updates as they become available.
The school district released a message Tuesday morning saying that everyone was safe and that all students, faculty and staff had been evacuated from the school and bused to an undisclosed off-site location.
Lester was referring to media reports of bomb threats made against schools in at least nine New Jersey towns that forced lockdowns or evacuations, according to The Associated Press.
In addition, Stephen Decatur High in Worcester County had to be evacuated after a bomb threat was called in to the school's office early Tuesday morning.
