Rock Legend David Bowie dead at 69

Today, it feels positively haunting.

The singer died surrounded by his loved ones, a statement on his Facebook page said. Bowie's final album, "Blackstar" came out on his 69th birthday on January 8.

"We are expecting a huge surge for a wide range of Bowie albums in this week's Official Albums Chart".

In 2002, when people were still lugging around wallets full of CDs and a year before Apple Inc. would launch its iTunes music store, David Bowie foretold the future in an interview with the New York Times.

"I'm in danger / I've got nothing left to lose", he sings in "Lazarus".

The song ends, "This way or no way, you know, I'll be free".

For fans, listening to the song or watching the video is a surreal experience. Until the Internet put a hole in the music industry's hull, music monetization was always on a attractive incline-a period which spanned the first 35 years of his career.

"David Bowie's 'Blackstar, ' recently released, is his second album since he resurfaced from what seemed like semi-retirement". Not so glamourous, but important in proving to aspiring young musicians that art and creativity can make even the most mundane of hometowns and livelihoods sparkle.

Bowie, who died Sunday aged 69, was born in Brixton and lived there until he was six years old with his waitress mother and his father, who worked for a children's charity. Or take a look at critic Glenn Kenny's appreciation of Bowie's overall screen presence, including a shout-out to "sentimental favorite" music video "Jazzin' for Blue Jean".

During the show on Tuesday, which is part of a North American tour, the band plans to play Bowie's 1970 album "The Man Who Sold The World" in its entirety. The creatures also featured in the music video for "Underground" off the film's soundtrack, which includes an animated Bowie segment and was directed by Steve Barron (who also did a-ha's partly animated "Take on Me").

"I had no idea", said Lauren Armstrong. I suppose it's the best thing that ever happened to me.

Paddy Kelly said, having listened to the performer's latest album released just two days before his death, it is obvious why the theme was dark.

His son, Duncan Jones, confirmed the news on Twitter.

Of course, in hindsight, it's maybe too easy to read unintentional meanings into these songs.

Manziel Didn't Check In With Browns Medical Staff Sunday
It's the latest drama surrounding Manziel, who has not delivered on expectations after being drafted in the first round in 2014. Apparently nobody ever sat Johnny Manziel down and spelled that out for him - and the Cleveland Browns took the hit for it.
